"Good, but the limits hit too fast"
I’m paying monthly, so I expected a bit more room. But when I’m reading a lot… the limits show up quickly. Kind of annoying. I’ll be in the middle of something, getting into it, and then boom. Stopped. It’s useful, sure, but that part gets frustrating fast.

"I’ll give them credit, the book selection…"
I’ll give them credit, the book selection is actually really good, which almost makes it more impressive how frustrating the site and app can be. Pages take forever to load, the app freezes here and there, and downloads randomly fail for no obvious reason. I do enjoy the books when everything works, but getting to that point can be way more annoying than it should be

"good library, messy app"
i like the library itself, but using the app feels kind of messy. pages are slow to load sometimes, and it’s weirdly annoying to find where i left off. the search results can be random too. i expected it to be easier to use on my phone.

"I mostly use scribd during my commute, so..."
I mostly use scribd during my commute, so the offline feature has been a lifesaver. I’ll download a few books or audiobooks while I’m at home, and they load up just fine later even when my signal is terrible. It makes train rides way less annoying. So far I’ve been happy with it and haven’t run into any major issues.

"Pretty Easy to Find"
I found it really fast, which surprised me a bit. Maybe I was just lucky, or maybe I’m overthinking it, but the whole process felt way easier than I expected.

"Canceling Felt Way Harder Than It Should"
I tried canceling my Scribd trial and it turned into a whole hassle. The cancel option felt buried, and I kept getting pushed through extra pages that were clearly trying to convince me to stay. I thought I had already canceled, but then I got charged anyway, which made me feel distrustful after the payment went through. I had to go back and contact support to sort it out. Maybe I missed a step somewhere, but the process really should be more obvious. I definitely won’t be signing up again.

"Found a Lot to Read During the Trial"
I tried Scribd out with the free trial, mostly just to see if it actually had anything I’d want to read. I ended up finding a bunch of books that caught my eye, so that was a nice surprise. The app worked well for me overall and I didn’t run into many issues. The only thing I wish was a little better was the cancellation process — it could’ve been clearer. Other than that, it was a solid experience

"Good selection, but the site can be really frustrating"
scribd has a ton of stuff to read, which is great, but the website itself feels clunky. Pages can load really slowly sometimes, and it’s not always easy to find where I left off. The search results are kind of a mess too, with random stuff mixed in that doesn’t feel very relevant. The reader also freezes on my laptop every now and then, which gets super annoying. It works overall, but using it feels way more frustrating than it needs to be.

"Login keeps failing at the worst times"
I keep running into issues when I try to log in, especially when I actually need to get something done. What makes it more frustrating is that the support responses feel kind of condescending, like I’m being talked down to instead of helped. I just want the login to work reliably without having to go in circles

"Pretty frustrating playback"
I’ve been trying to listen, but the playback keeps stuttering and sometimes it just skips to another chapter for no real reason. It’s really annoying, especially when I’m in the middle of something. I guess maybe it’s not a huge deal, but it kind of ruins the whole thing for me because listening is basically the main point.

"Not really worth it for me"
I used Scribd for a couple of months it was just okay. I wanted to like it, but the value never really clicked for me. Too many books I was actually interested in either weren’t available or had some kind of limit, which got frustrating fast. For what they charge, I expected way more content that I actually wanted to read. In the end, I cancelled because it felt like I was barely using it and mostly just getting annoyed by what wasn’t there.

"Search barely works"
I tried using this the other night while I was sitting on the couch looking for something specific, and even when I typed in the exact title, it still wouldn’t show up. I thought maybe I spelled it wrong, so I checked and tried again, but nope. It’s really annoying when you know exactly what you’re looking for and still can’t find it.

"Massive library and super easy to browse"
I mainly use Scribd for books and audiobooks, and I’m telling you, the library is absolutely stacked. I’ll search for some random title fully expecting it not to be there, and somehow it is. Every time. The docs can actually be useful too, which is a nice bonus. i’m definitely happy with it so far.

"So Far, So Good for Me"
I haven’t noticed any weird charges on my end so far, which is what I care about most. Everything seems fine for me right now.

"Billing got fixed, but wow, the wait"
I had a billing issue and reached out to support. They did eventually get back to me and fix the problem, so credit where it’s due. But waiting a few days for a response was annoying. Like, when it’s billing-related, you kind of want answers sooner rather than sitting there wondering what’s going on. It worked out in the end, but the response time definitely tested my patience.

"Pleasantly surprised by how much I use it"
I’ve been using Scribd on and off for a while, and at first I was a little confused when some books or audiobooks disappeared from my saved list. I thought something was glitching, but I’ve realized that the selection just changes from time to time. That said, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how often I still find something good to read or listen to. Even when one title isn’t available anymore, there’s usually another version or a similar book that catches my eye. It’s not perfect, but for the price, it’s been a really solid deal for me. I’m reading way more than I used to, so I’m happy to give it 5 stars

"Easy to use across all my devices"
I use Scribd on my phone, tablet, and laptop, and it syncs well between them. I haven’t really had any issues opening books or audiobooks, and it’s nice being able to switch devices without losing my spot

"I’ve been using Scribd for a bit now…"
I’ve been using Scribd for a bit now, and I have to say the recommendations are actually solid. I usually tune out suggested books on apps unless something really lines up with what I’m into, but Scribd keeps putting books and audiobooks in front of me that feel relevant. I’ve found a few I probably never would’ve searched for on my own, which has been a nice surprise. It makes it easy to just pick something and keep reading or listening.

"Decent for ebooks, but kind of hit or miss"
I mostly use scribd for ebooks, and overall the selection is decent. I can usually find something to read, especially if it’s an older book or something more popular. But not sure how to explain it, a lot of the titles I actually search for either aren’t there or only come up as audiobooks. It’s not bad at all, just really depends on what you’re looking for.

Scribd Q&A

I have cancelled my subscription and i am still being charged.

Hi i was charged for the free trial - my money was not returned- i cannot use free trial expires soon and it says that i have no card details..

I want to know if i can delete the account before the trial ends so i dont have to pay any money. i just need one document from this site. thanks

My initial support ticket has not been responded to after 17 days. why can't you remove my resumes from your site in a timely fashion? your website says that support tickets are dealt with in just a few days, not weeks.

I want to know if i can delete the account before the trial ends so i dont have to pay any money. i just need one document from this site. thanks
